You knew something was afoot, you've heard the rumors, but now, at long last comes the announcement that we've all been waiting for...

The HDI Screenshot Contest Is Finally Here!!!

Starting on Sunday, August 24th, post your screenshots in <a href="http://www.hordedisposalinc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=180">this</a> forum until September 7. At that time all entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges. A poll will be devised and HDI Guild Memebers will then be able vote on their favorite entry. The top vote getter will win 100 gold, 2nd place gets 60 gold, and the 3rd place entry will take home 40 gold.

I am hoping that this will catch on with everyone and so to keep it going each contest will be based on a theme. The first theme is, "Self-portrait."

So find out which outfits best compliment your physique, what color clothing bring out your healthy skin tones and which is your most flattering side, and start taking screenshots!

Vacation in Orgrimmar

Braukin (our lvl 53 dwarf rogue) thought it would be fun to take a stroll through Orgrimmar the other night after clearing Ragefire Chasm. While on his little 'vacation' he snapped a couple screens and even documented his experience in <a href="http://www.hordedisposalinc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=122">this thread</a>. Feel free to check it out and comment if you liked it.

I thought that this was news enough to share with everyone ... well, since it's off the topic of 'When is the next Kara run!?' Some of Brau's adventure is pretty funny also! LOL Brau, love the portal diving!!

Anyway, I say we set up a huge raid and take out ALL of the merchants next time! Anyone else game?

Group Calendar

Hey all, Elro discovered an addon that will be of help to everyone called 'Group Calender'. It is, as the name would indicate, an 'ingame' calender on which to mark events, confirm attendance, leave messages, etc. The very nice thing is that it appears as a clock on the upper left of your minimap where the moon/sun are located. Clicking on the clock opens the calender. This calendar will help us tremendously in the planning and scheduling of events, most of all because it is 'ingame' as opposed to the website calender.

We haven't pressed this addon as a mandatory requirement for the guild .. yet, but a good majority of us are currently using it and I would strongly encourage the rest of you to 'go get it' and start using it.

HDI Chat Feature

[UPDATE] I moved the chat feature to the < left hand column. And now the videos have their own page. [UPDATE]

You may, or may not, have noticed the new link above titled "Chat". I was a little annoyed with the Tuesday down time today and was checking for upgrades to the site. Found a 'shoutbox' style chat feature that was easily implemented into our site, so I went with it.

Not sure if this is much of an upgrade or anything, but thought you might like it anyway.

Hey guys and gals, I've updated our videos so that they are now shown it a 'album style' widget which you can easily scroll through. This will save you all time in having to flip over to the older news page to view that 'Chick Fight' once more .. cause you know you all wanna see it again, right?

Squishy Time for Ithiel

"Well, it was that time again for someone to get squished ... and this time it was going to be me! I was looking forward to this for a while, and I almost did an entire level from 57 to 58 in 4 hours ... just to get SQUISHED! This was a big event for me, and I had the great honor to be squished not once but TWICE! (Because Ever logged on just as the first squishing was in progress.)

I must give a heart felt thanks to everyone who came out to see me throw down with that rusty tin can. Even my wife Jorine was able to attend the event and see me get flattened like a pancake.

And another thanks for everyone it HDI to make it feel like home! This is a fantastic guild and I am very honored to be a part of it.

Welcome to Outland ... now, let's get you Squished!

Just before I 'Ding!'ed to level 60, I had the 'wonderful' opportunity to take a stroll into Outland with 'Momma' Moon as my guide to get, eh.., squished!? Yes, you read that correctly. There's a little 'right of passage' for those HDI Members who have yet to step through the Dark Portal for the first time. What could possibly wait for you on the other side? Well, other than the beautiful new 'planetary' world beneath your feet, there is a giant machine ... eh, I mean, 'GIANT' Machine known as the Fel Reaver stalking the grounds of Outland ready to stomp on whatever gets in it's way...

To be honest, I'm not sure why this is such a big phenomena with the HDI crew, but it sure does get everyone all excited and cheering for the .. 'Outland Noob' who is about to meet there worst nightmare up to that point.

I had the opportunity to film 'my' initiation into Outland as 'Momma' Moon went to town on the big boy! I hope you enjoy watching the agony as I went down in 'one' crushing stomp, and for those who have been privy to a down home HDI squishing of their own, feel free to reminisce!!

Profession Leveling Guides

Admit it, from time to time you've wondered how to boost your professions a little faster than normal. You're running (or riding) through an area near a body of water and notice that 'white ring' begging you to equip your [Fishing Pole], but think to yourself "ah man ... it just takes to long to fish, maybe I'll do it later!" Well, I'm one who wishes all of my professions were sitting pretty at 375, now!

I recently began the arduous task of getting my Leatherworking back up to where it should be for my level. Seems as though I preferred the lure of 'a few gold' for my 20x stacks of [Heavy Leather] that I was selling in the Auction House instead making my Leatherworking numbers go up. Now I regret it. If i had a couple words of advice for someone wanting to level their profession it would be simply to "level your professions AS YOU level."

Obviously the masterminds at Blizzard designed things this way, otherwise we'd all be forking over tons of gold now for those 20x stacks we were grinding out ourselves 'and selling' 10-20 levels ago. (Which I'm sorry to say I've been doing WAY to much of lately.)

Anyway, I found a wonderful resource of 'free' Profession Leveling Guides via the EU WoW Forums. You can check all of them out in this thread in our forums. If you know of any other good guides, feel free to add them!

Could it be!? Yes, you read it right. Only 365 days ago the 'little guild that could' started down the path to WoW victory. And today Horde Disposal Inc turns 1. Can we get a slice of 'GRATS!' over here please!? Take a moment and bask in the glory of this monumental event and reflect on the year past. What's your favorite HDI memory from the past year? Feel free to share it in this thread.

Now, I know that many of us haven't been around since day one, but it doesn't mean we can celebrate with the HDI family. So, share your gratitude to the crew and drop in and say hey all day today!!

Oh, and if you've got the mats, why not whip up a [Delicious Chocolate Cake] and share a slice with a fellow member!
